I’ll admit it. I strongly disliked Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (RO2) when I first played it last year. But after around 15 hours or so of playing the game, I fell in love. I took a few months off but just recently installed it again (this time GOTY edition) and am falling in love all over again.
I play one way, and one way only, realism. The game has got such a great charm it is hard as hell to put down. I can understand why it takes a while to grow on gamers, especially gamers with the attention span of a 6 month old puppy. But if given time, this will be a gem that will just keep giving back over time. And since Tripwire Interactive is in charge of things and love PC gamers more than their own mothers, we will continue to receive the fruits of their labor over the years to come. If you haven’t gotten RO2 yet and love FPS games, get this now, you won’t be disappointed.
