I have failed you, my friends. Last week I missed the launch of an expansion to what is arguably the #1 game franchise still on the shelves.
Civilization V: Gods and Kings was launched on June 19th as an add on to the core game, created by Firaxis Games.
It adds religion and spies as well as:
- 27 new units
- 13 new building
- 9 new wonders
- 9 new playable civilizations
- a new religion mechanic called “faith”
- 2 new city states (religious and mercantile)
- a new quest system
- improved strategic AI
- and 52 new steam achievements
The new “faith” game mechanic allows you to completely create your own religion with all the power mongering, corruption, and wealth building you can muster (sorry no little boy loving).
This is the first offiial expansion to CivV and it’s a whopper. I mean the game is already amazing, but this just takes it over the top.
With a Metacritic score of 80, you should play this. Stop reading, goto steam, and buy this.
