When launching COD: Black Ops the developers often give us helpful mesages at the bottom of the screen. Such as: how many players have been killed, or how many faces have been painted or how many weapons attachments have been unlocked. But recently I have noticed quite a strange mesage. ”Multiplayer: Free with every copy of Black Ops.”
Now why in the hell would they need to put that message there? What could their explanation be for that. To me they are hinting at charging for multiplayer in the future. I would not expect Activision to do the right thing and leave it alone, I actually expect them to begin charging for multiplayer on the upcoming Call of Duty title. It’s sad when a company that makes a billion dollars with one game feels like it’s not enough and is continuly looking for more ways to milk money out of a franchise and out of their customers.
If the upcoming Call of Duty title will not allow free multiplayer like every game in history has ever done, (the majority) then I will not bother. It will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, they will have crossed the line, and can go fuck themselves. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
